Hiking

Hiking

In the Challis Nat’l Forest…bears??? Who’s got the mace? No one? How fast can you run?

Beautiful Day for a Hike

Beautiful Day for a Hike

With our friends Carol, Trudy, and doggies Ranger and Juno

Trudy, Nic & Carol

Trudy, Nic & Carol

Carol and husband John are sweet folks who put us up in Sun Valley. Very grateful for them!!!

Lounging

Lounging

Nicci and Juno take a rest at lake Alturas campground.

Camping Perks

Camping Perks

After a show in Stanley, camping is where we find our other happy place!

Resting

Resting

Any chance Mo can snag a picture of me being lazy…she will, ha ha!!!

Juno Fishing

Juno Fishing

Hawk-eyeing the minos…it’s an all morning endeavor.

Water and Sun

Water and Sun

Good therapy for the soul!

Wedge Tomb

Wedge Tomb

We are sitting in a very ancient wedge tomb that has been around before Christ!

Commitment Rock

Commitment Rock

This is an ancient Om rock at a ceremonial grave yard. Legend has it that you put your thumb in the hole and that was a sacred contract that lasts beyond time. So…guess we got married that moment ;-)

One of many Pubs

One of many Pubs

The trip was made GREAT by these new friends that joined us!

Many Guinness ...

Many Guinness ...

and whiskey was consumed. “When in Rome”…errr Ireland. They drink. We drank a LOT!

Animal Charmer!

Animal Charmer!

Animals of all sorts are right along with the Irish people in all ways! They measure their value not by the cars they drive, but by the animals they have on their farm land. I love that!!! And I loved this donkey!!!

Mizen Head

Mizen Head

The most southern point of Irelands shore. This was beautiful. Reminiscent of Cape Flattery Washington, the most Northeast point of the USA!

Kenny's Bar

Kenny's Bar

A place we could play if we ever went back…hmmm? That’s a LONG WAY back! :-)

Bhhhaaaaa!!!

Bhhhaaaaa!!!

I never knew my sheep sound would go over so well and be useful! There are 7 million sheep in Ireland and my Bhhha call was a huge hit. No, I didn’t buy this hat…no room in our bags!

Just can’t catch that scenery. Entering the Dingle Peninsula.

Bhhaaa!!!

Bhhaaa!!!

I like sheep…they like me too!!!

Song Arounds

Song Arounds

Each person got the chance to sing their songs in “around” style. We played several times. “Thankful” was a big hit and the Irish people loved it too!!!

Cliffs Edge

Cliffs Edge

If you wanted to end your life…this would be the best place to swan dive! There were platforms and we wondered about the old pagan sacrifices that must have happened here. Beauty and tragedy co-existing.

The Beginnings of the Cliffs

The Beginnings of the Cliffs

When I first looked over the edge, I was overwhelmed with beauty, sorrow, something nostalgic my mind didn’t remember, but my body knew well. Shed some tears of joy and relished in a beautiful gift of the day!!!

Cliffs of Moher

Cliffs of Moher

Look how close the edge is!!! Whew!

Wha la!

Wha la!

The grass was so spongy like a lofty bed…so comfy here at the Cliff’s of Moher. Truly my favorite part of Ireland!

Aron Islands

Aron Islands

Rock walls abound - everywhere you see rock!

Horseys!

Horseys!

We took a horse and carriage with good friends on the Aran Isle. It was a great way to see more of this beautiful little Island.

Wind in Main

Wind in Main

Check out the amazing rock walls! These roads where 2 way streets too! Ah, What?!!! The land was farmed, and they dug the rock out so they could plant…what else to do with rocks but build walls?

Castles

Castles

Many dilapidated castles are all around Ireland. It’s a common sight.

Om Stones

Om Stones

Om stones date back 5000 years ago. Stone Age people created the first language with these stones by etching lines in various ways. They created the first 8 letters of the alphabet with those lines. These stones were erected as some sort of memorial place. Fascinating!

Facing the Sun!

Facing the Sun!

In Ireland!

Cliff's of Moher

Some were in tact like this one here on the Dingle Peninsula.

Kayaking

Kayaking

We had a free day in Dingle…why not Kayak? This was a great time!

Off the Dingle Peninsula

Off the Dingle Peninsula

Seeing the peninsula from a different perspective. We lucked out with weather!

Snail

Snail

Reminding me to go slow and enjoy the ride!!!

Graveyard

Graveyard

Many many graveyards, this one was near Dingle.

HEY!!!

HEY!!!

Cool little towns and cities heading to the cost lines!!!

Pubs!

Pubs!

We played “Thankful” at this pub and people loved the tune~! Fellow travelers and song writers by my side.

The streets of Dublin!

The streets of Dublin!

I felt like I was walking into a Simon and Garfunkel song here!

Guinness Stew

Guinness Stew

At the Guinness Store house, this stew was a big hit. Enough for us to get the recipe and Mo did a fantastic job copying it!!! Yum!!!

New Grange!

New Grange!

A neolithic tomb we got to enter! This is north of Dublin and so perfectly done over 5000 years ago! Water tight! There is a small 12 foot chamber inside and the window above the door which allows for Sunlight on the winter solstice to enter and touch a tomb stone for only a few minutes. FASCINATING! How did they move such large rocks back then. No horses were in Ireland! This is OLDER than Stone Henge and the Egyptian Pyramids!!! Wow!!!
